January 6, 2005 10:28 - Twelfth Day of Christmas. Decadence and Detox!

A very Happy New Year to you all!

This is the last day of Christmas, twelfth day. So if you still want a reason to celebrate...go for it!

However, maybe you are eager[ish!]to start your New Year detox? I think it can be a bit difficult to lurch headlong into frugality after so much decadence. So I tend to think of January as a transitional month. A balance of hedonism and puritanism or sloth and activity!

I do my really 'serious' detox in February, it is fabulously effective. I'll be posting the method in this blog, if you're interested!

But, for now, make sure you have at least a few 'pure' days per week. No processed food, alcohol, sugar etc. A day, two or three at a time of cous cous, veg and fruit is very purifying. And brilliant for weight loss!

Talking about weight loss the best exercises I know for losing weight and keeping it off are the Five Rites. They really speed up your metabolism and keep you young and gorgeous, in only a short time per day!

I've been doing them for two years and, for me, they are nothing short of miraculous! Find out more about the truly amazing Five Tibetan Rites!

See you soon!

January 10, 2005 16:10 - The best diet...and it's free!

As you know, the diet industry is worth millions. Fortunes are made by wrapping the obvious in fancy packaging and verbose verbiage! Funnily enough though, they all have one thing in common....they all result in reduced calorie consumption!

Someone once asked Maharishi Mahesh Yogi what the best weight loss diet was and he giggled and said..

"Eat less"

The truth is always simple. People who want to extract money from you complicate simplicity.

Blah blah blah blah blah blah..that'll be a hundred dollars!

Click here for free womens weight loss tips!

Spend your money on life enhancing unprocessed food! And then go shopping for some gorgeous slinky clothes!

But really, there should be even more 'diets'..yes one for each person! Only you know what is right for you. You know when you're hungry, not just bored. You know when you're eating the 'wrong' things! Nature has provided us with the best diet aids..natural foods. And also with the best gymnasium in the universe....the great outdoors!

Sometimes it's easy to get in a rut and think there is some magic formula...

There is....your own self referral!

January 14, 2005 14:51 - Appreciate "Luxuries" To Create More Happiness!

Have not been able to get online for a few days. Scotland, where I live, has just had a hurricane, followed, not surprisingly, by widespread power cuts. However, when something like that is over it creates an increased appreciation of the simple things in life..not to mention life itself!

The power cuts made me realise how dependant I've become on electricity. No computer, no heating, no TV, no light. So just had to go back in time for a few days.

It was a real 'eye opener' !

So just a reminder really that life is a gift. Good health, warmth and shelter are luxuries. Luxuries, that, as you know, a lot don't have.

So those of us with them really appreciate them and give thanks. Gratitude for the good things we have is very powerful. It creates more of the same.

Focus on all the good you have in your life. It will make you feel immediately happier. Do it just before sleep. Very powerful.

Best wishes to you all!

January 19, 2005 15:24 - More Happiness, Less Worry!

Are you having a happy life? If not, it's never too late to start. I once worked with a woman whose zest, joy and enthusiasm lit up the room [and it was a big office!]

I remarked that it was lovely that she was always such uplifting company.

"Oh,I wasn't always like this", she replied. "It all changed when my dad died, when I was about forty."

Not the answer I was expecting!

"Was he that bad?" I asked her.

"On the contray," she told me "he was wonderful." However, just before he died he made a confession:

"Darling, I have ruined my life with worry. And not one thing I've worried about has ever happened! Don't let the same thing happen to you!"

Something "clicked" within her. And she kicked the worry habit from then on!

If you find it difficult to stop worrying maybe my anxiety tips will help you.

January 21, 2005 09:07 - Extract of Camomile and "What Doctors Won't Tell You".

Today I'd like to tell you about a fabulous free e-newsletter I subscribe to. It's from "What Doctors Don't Tell You."
It warns of many of the dangers of modern medicine. And there are quite a few!

However, it's not a negative publication, because it also gives positive alternatives. Here's an extract from the latest edition:

[Extract of camomile, to be exact!]......

"...Finally, after all that bad news, settle down to a nice cup of tea - but make sure it's camomile. Scientists from London's Imperial College have found that five cups of the tea over a fortnight can fight the common cold and stop menstrual cramping.
The tea increases levels of glycine, which can ease muscle spasms, and hippurate, a naturally occurring anti-inflammatory. And even after the volunteers stopped their five-cups-a-day intake, levels of glycine and hippurate remained high for another two weeks....."

Find out more about lots more by ordering your free WHAT DOCTORS DON’T TELL YOU - E-NEWS BROADCAST

That's it for today folks. Think I'll go and get a cup of tea myself. I'll save the camomile for bed time. As you know, it is a wonderful sleep aid.

January 26, 2005 15:23 - Ancient secret To Lose Weight

Guess what is a cheap and effective weight loss aid?

According to ayurveda,an ancient system of natural health, hot water is!

Boil some water and keep it in a flask next to you. Take a sip approx every half hour. It stimulates your digestion, which means it helps born up calories. It also helps dissolve toxins in the system. So you get a double bonus!

It really is a fabulous weight loss aid! If you feel hungry between meals take a sip of hot water. You'll often find the hunger disappears.

Another tip is to take a flask of hot water to bed. Sip it in the morning and help dissolve toxins that may have built up over night.

It's a good idea to use a tongue cleaner first.

Happy sipping!

January 28, 2005 17:33 - Meditate to reduce your tummy!

Have you tried everything to flatten your tummy, but it's not working?

What could be happening, is that stress is triggering the release of cortisol, a hormone. In turn, cortisol can cause fat to form around your middle....

Just where we all love it!

And as a "double whammy" cortisol can give us the urge to snack on higher fat foods!

A really good way of reducing stress [and therefore, hopefully cortisol] is meditation. And you're in luck, there's a free easy meditation technique right here on this website!

You'll also find stress management, anxiety tips and lots more via my womens natural health map.

Wishing you a calmer life and a flatter tummy!
I'll blog again soon,
Bye for now,
Janet

February 1, 2005 11:50 - The Best Beauty Treatment!

An old friend of mine used to give up alcohol for one month a year. He chose February because it is the shortest month!

I've copied him because February is my purification month. No alcohol or processed food. Just basmati rice, dhal and cooked fruit and veggies. And plenty of warm to hot water. I always feel reborn by the 28th. And all those clothes that had become tight over Christmas and beyond become wonderfully loose.

It's the best beauty treatment I know!

I incorporate the above with an ayurvedic home purification. It adds a real "turbo charge"! You can find out about this and lots more in "The Complete Book of Ayurvedic Home Remedies" by Vasant Lad B.A.M.S.,M.A.Sc.:
