April 1, 2005 11:43 - Ageless in April!

Welcome to April!

I remember being 19 and feeling sorry for a friend of 23...

She was just so old!

Of course, now I'm well into my forties ,23 seems like babyhood.

We can have a srange way of not appreciating how young we are. Certain ages only seem young looking back. So appreciate how young you are right now.

Better still, don't focus on your chronological age at all. Just know that you are ageless, because you are!

If you were popped into a time machine and 'whisked backards or forward a certain number of years you wouldn't be able to guess your age without looking at yourself. That's because your inner self is ageless.

So enjoy every moment and rejoice in your agelessness!

April 11, 2005 10:23 - Vitamin C, viruses, bruising, skiing!

Back in February I blogged about Vitamin C. I asked the question "Are we getting enough?" Well, I certainly haven't been! I 'ran out' of this 'wonder vitamin' about two weeks ago. Stupidly, I went for a week without taking it. As a result, I have just spent most of the last week in bed with a horrible flu-like virus...

I don't think it's coincidental because similar things have happened to me before. However, I've got away with mild colds before now. This time I've reeeeaaaly learnt my lesson.

Another thing I've noticed when I've lapsed with my 'C' intake is that I bruise really easily...

So it's a good job I haven't been skiing, as I fall over all the time and would be one big bruise!

Visit my vitamin Vitamin C RDA page to find if you're taking enough.

Stay happy and healthy,
Best wishes,
Janet.

April 18, 2005 15:21 - "Doctors Are Dangerous" and so is falling over!

This may sound obvious, but:

If you have any rugs or mats on hard surfaces in your home make sure they are totally non-slip.....or get rid of them altogether!

Because I literally 'went flying' in the kitchen. I landed with my arm underneath me and it's now in a sling....

That's my excuse for not blogging for a while.

While I was tapping with one hand I came across a great site I'd like to share with you:

Doctors Are Dangerous.com

And wait until you see the photo of the author, taken when she was 76, she looks so young.

That's it from me for today.

May 5, 2005 11:27 - Free Teeth whitening..nearly!

Welcome to May. Sorry haven't blogged recently..it was due to my painful arm, which I blogged about last time!

I hope you like the following tip:

Before you pay for professional teeth whitening, or even an at-home kit, you may want to try the following:

Try brushing your teeth with plain old bicarbonate of soda. To give it even more ooomph add some 3% hydrogen peroxide. You can do this by either creating a paste of the two ingredients or by simply dipping the brush in the hydrogen peroxide and then into the bicarbonate of soda.

Brush for the usual amount of time. Rinse thoroughly. You don't want to be swallowing either the horrid stuff the mixture has loosened,or the hydrogen peroxide.

Personally I have just been using the hydrogen peroxide from the chemist [drugstore]. However, you can purchase food-grade hydrogen peroxide; a search reveals lots of sites!

See you soon!
