March 1, 2006 15:52 - Quick way to flat tummy !?

Welcome to March!

Want a flat tummy?

I mentioned, in my February 9th blog that I was having a bit of a detox. Well, amongst other things I gave up bread. I gradually introduced yeast-free bread, and then had a slice of yeasted bread...

My tummy swelled up and I felt really sluggish. Out of interest I measured my waist and it had expanded by two inches!

I remember my ayurvedic doctor telling me to try and avoid yeast as it is difficult to digest.

So if you'd like a flatter tummy [and want to be healthier]you could always try giving the yeast a miss for a while...

Here's a recipe for yeast free bread

By the way, I'm off on an 'internet free' trip so will not be blogging for a few weeks.

Stay happy and healthy, and have fun!

March 20, 2006 15:42 - A sweetener that's good for your teeth and waistline?

If you want a little more sweetness in your life but sensibly want to avoid the 'nasties' associated with sugar maybe you could try Xylitol...

Apparently it's nine times sweeter than sugar and tastes yummy. It's also been said to be good to your teeth, bones and blood sugar levels. It has less calories than sugar [2.4 calories per gram, while sugar has 4 calories per gram.]

As far as I'm concerned there is no contest!

March 28, 2006 10:43 - A Secret Diet to Lose Weight!

Do you want to lose a few excess pounds before bikini time? Would you like to be at your most gorgeous on the beach?

Then, just go on a secret diet!

Have you noticed that as soon as you announce 'I am on a diet' it suddenly seems more difficult. You feel pressurized. If you indulge in a little 'treat' you're met with a chorus of...

'But I thought you were on a diet!'.

Or..

'Oh, go on don't be a spoilsport a little blah blah or blah won't harm you!'

Make it your own little secret and the pounds will drop off..

A friend of mine told me that whenever she's put on a little extra poundage she's just halved her usual portions until she's back to the weight she's happy with.

And she's never told a soul she's been dieting..and nobody has ever guessed.

They've been far too busy tucking into their huge piles of food!

Have fun with your little secret!

April 1, 2006 14:46 - Lose weight in seconds!

Yes, I know that headline sounds a bit like an 'April Fool Trick'!

However, I'm talking about is the amount of time deciding if you should eat that snack...

or not!

Are you really hungry or is it just a whim? Afterwards will you feel sorry you ate it? If you're not really hungry is it worth the few moments chewing pleasure. Probably not, especially if it is a high fat/high sugar snack.

I always think the little saying 'A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips' really sums it up.

I'm not trying to be a spoilsport, the opposite, in fact. Think how much more yummy highly nutrtitious food will taste when you're really ready for it!

I'm not saying I'm a saint about this myself, either. But I do feel better [and my jeans feel looser!] when I resist the mindless snacks!
