April 1, 2006 14:46 - Lose weight in seconds!

Yes, I know that headline sounds a bit like an 'April Fool Trick'!

However, I'm talking about is the amount of time deciding if you should eat that snack...

or not!

Are you really hungry or is it just a whim? Afterwards will you feel sorry you ate it? If you're not really hungry is it worth the few moments chewing pleasure. Probably not, especially if it is a high fat/high sugar snack.

I always think the little saying 'A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips' really sums it up.

I'm not trying to be a spoilsport, the opposite, in fact. Think how much more yummy highly nutrtitious food will taste when you're really ready for it!

I'm not saying I'm a saint about this myself, either. But I do feel better [and my jeans feel looser!] when I resist the mindless snacks!

April 11, 2006 14:55 - Flatter tummy and weight loss tips!

A quick update to tell you I've just added a new page...

It discusses various approaches to achieving a flatter tummy. As you know, even very slim women can have fairly big tummies. One of the culprits can be the stress hormone, cortisol...

But you can read more on the actual plage. Just click on flatter tummy

I've also just added a new entry to the blog type weight loss tips page.

That's it for now, I'll blog again soon!

April 13, 2006 12:22 - Lose Weight by Eating Chocolate!

As you know around this time of year magazines and newspapers are full of suggestions for 'chocolate diets'...

They lure you in [like I did!] with headines such as 'lose weight on the chocolate diet' or 'eat chocolate and still lose weight'.

But, unfortunately, like the chocolate guzzling child in 'Charlie and the Cholcolate Factory' if we eat large amount of chocolate on a daily basis we'll get fat...

Unless we have extremely fast metabolisms!

So unfortunately, it's just a 'little of what we fancy' of the choccy variety, alongside plenty of healthy stuff.

Of course, you can always combine the two, such as indulging in choccy dipped strawberries.

Have a choctastic time!

April 18, 2006 14:06 - Weight Loss and Antiaging!

Are you stuck on a pesky weight loss plateau? Many people respond to this by eating less and less. But this is not recommended as it can slow the metabolism even more...

Just what we don't want!

The best exercises I know for increasing the metabolism are the Five Tibetan Rites, which are also a wonderful antiaging exercise.

But back on that weight loss plateau, what to do? Well, to help you slide down the other side, perhaps my new page, unsurprisingly called weight loss plateau might help.

April 28, 2006 17:51 - Quick easy and cheap way to deal with stress!

Feeling stressed and nobody to talk to about it? Why not try getting it all down on paper...

Just get your pen and pad and vent away. This can be incredibly cleansing:

Don't hold back, nobody needs to see what you've written!

Afterwards you may want to burn the paper. This is a powerful way of getting rid of any negative energies, and it makes sure it stays private...

Just make sure you burn it safely!

Another powerful way to deal with stress and anxiety is using an easy meditation technique

May 2, 2006 12:41 - Two Minute Detox!

Take a flask of hot water to bed with you. If you've used a modern stainless steel flask the water should be nice and warm to hot by morning. When you wake up sit up and luxuriously sip away. It's very cleansing and helps clear impurities from the digestive tract...a great start to your day!

Why not just have a cup of tea first thing instead? Well, as my ayurvedic doctor said "You wouldn't wash your clothes in tea, would you?"

I've been doing this for years [the hot water sipping, not washing my clothes in tea!]. However, I still look forward to my morning tea or coffee, but enjoy it with a clearer conscience [and digestive tract!]
