We all get angry from time to time so here are some potent anger management tips...
The best way to deal with anger is to let stresses out regularly, twice a day, by meditating. You can find out how on my 'easy meditation' page. That way you will be far less likely to get angry on an ongoing basis. However, we are all human and do get angry from time to time. Here are some of my favourite anger management tips... It is difficult to feel angry if you are breathing deeply! It is also difficult to breathe deeply when we are slouching. So sit or stand up straight and take deep breaths! Sorry if I sounded a bit bossy there! A powerful tip is this following one I was taught by a very wise Indian gentleman... If possible withdraw from the anger causing scene. Close your eyes and think about what has made you angry. Not difficult! Then take your attention away from the cause and focus on the sensation it is causing in your body. I usually feel it either in my throat or stomach. However, we are all different. So when you have located the sensation just sit and focus on it... At first it may feel very severe, like a tight knot. However, just stay with it. The feeling will probably disperse. When it has faded go back to thinking about what has made you angry. Nine times out of ten the anger has either gone or lessened dramatically. What has happened is that instead of you have dealt with it from whence it came. You have released it. Another effective method in this selection of anger management tips is this: Just sit, or preferably lie down and just accept your anger. Be with it. Really let yourself feel it. This is very healthy. A very powerful form of release. You are letting it go before it goes and becomes a deep seated form of stress within your body. A good old fashioned technique is 'beating up' a pillow. Just take all that anger out on that poor pillow. It is just so healthy to let it out. I once heard the story of a man at meditation retreat. Whilst there some very powerful anger he felt towards his father came up. The guru told him to go and beat on his pillow, pretending it was his father. He beat on that poor pillow for hours. He shouted, screamed, ranted and raved. And afterwards? He felt fabulous and only had positive and loving feelings towards his dad (and the pillow!) So you either release the anger outwardly on something safe. Or you release it quietly and inwardly. This is not the same as suppression. However anger comes up do not suppress it. We all have emotions that we have supressed. They get locked into the physical body and can case all sorts of deep seated problems. Both physical and mental. **************** "Why Make Yourself Crazy? 300 Strategies for a Stress-Free Life" ****************I hope you've enjoyed these anger management tips!
